Inspired by the Rainbow Charm Swap and this tutorial, I made this colorful mug rug!
I love the colors (which may look familiar) and the shapes that were made with the different way I sewed the triangles together. I sashed it in white to make the 3 and 1/4 inch block stand out. I know the seams aren't perfect, but I still love it.
This was my first time hand sewing the binding down. I've been a bit intimidated by it and have never really been happy with machine sewing it so I thought I would give it a try. I am very happy with the results!
I made this with the intention of giving it away as a small gift of thanks to a specific person, so I really hope she likes it! It will be a bit hard to give it away.

Oh my gosh this looks amazing! I LOVE anything in rainbow order & this is no exception. Thanks so much for sharing it with me! :]
Your mug rug is gorgeous. I like your use of colour in all your posts as I just went back and read the ones I hadn't seen yet. When you do complete your niece's quilt it will be fantastic if you are managing to do all this so soon into your quilting life!
Aww,thank you ladies!
Susan, that is very kind of you to say. I do admit that I have improved leaps and bounds just in the past few months. I think doing some smaller projects like rug mugs have really helped me!
OMG I cannot believe this is for ME!!! I just opened my package today with your beautiful fabric for the charm swap and holy cow- I was so surprised to find this beautiful mug rug and an adorable little pouch! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I love them both and cannot wait to use them. I've made several mug rugs myself but have given them all away - so happy to have one so lovely for my own. And I LOVE my little pouch. Christine- you are so, so kind!
You are very, very welcome! I thought it would be a nice way to say thank you for all of your work on the rainbow charm swap and I love making zip pouches so it was my pleasure!
