I need your opinion...

OK, first off, look at those freckles!

Freckles

Before this summer he didn't have a single one on his face, even last summer.  It's crazy!  He's just so stinkin' cute and then add those freckles...I just melt!

Alright ladies, I need your opinions, but be warned, I may do exactly the opposite of what you say (one of my many bad habits).

I've been working on this quilt for the past week for my newest niece, Martha.  I'm about halfway done with the quilting and I can't decide on which fabric to use for the binding.

Binding Options

So I have this brown with white polka dots and this white with pink polka dots.  I prefer the brown, but it's the same fabric I used for the back.  I realise the back is the back and the front is what you are really looking at, but I don't want it to be too boring.

Or Brown?

I really like the look of the brown, I think it frames it well.

Pink?

I like the pink and white, but I don't think it frames it as well and since it isn't used anywhere else in the quilt I don't think it blends as well.  I also don't really think the pinks go together.  I do really like it from the back, though.

I guess my hang up is the brown on brown for the back...

What do you all think?

Me, I'd go with the brown binding as I think it frames the front better.

Can we see the whole top when it's done? It certainly looks good from the few 'taster' photos.

Hi, I'm also with the brown. And you're right that the pinks don't really go together... Nice top, I'd like to see more of it (you're such a teaser, mh?)

My vote is brown two. I don't think the white provides enough contrast. The little of the top we have seen looks great tho, can't wait to see finished photos!

I like the brown best. If you really want to use some of the pink on the back, make a label with it. It would be adorable.

Like the others I'm also voting for brown cause I like it when the fabric of the binding can be found in the quilt as well and I like it when the binding matches the backing. Hope that helps and you wont do the opposite ;-)

Hi Christine--just popped over from Ellison Lane & I'm your new friend!! :O)
Before we get stated here, I just want to say that freckles on kids are about the cutest thing ever, and your little guy is a-stinkin-dorable!
Okay, brown, without a doubt. why not make the pink dot the backing? don't like the idea of pink with brown binding? i say it a "do"!
I live in Sycamore, how about you?

You might be sensing a thieme here: I'd go for the brown for all the reasons you've already said!

And, as I always say to my DD, "if in doubt, don't!" You seem to be doubting the pink dot so go with the brown!
